Biography
Jim Casey is a Perkins Fellow and postdoctoral research associate of the Center for Digital Humanities at Princeton University. He is national co-director of the award-winning Colored Conventions Project and co-editor of the forthcoming essay collection, The Colored Convention Movement: Black Organizing in the Nineteenth Century. His research interests include nineteenth-century American literature, African American literature, print culture, and editorship studies, extending out into the digital humanities and public humanities. Along with work that has appeared in Common-place, his book-in-progress is titled The Invention of Editors. He has served as an instructor at HILT and on the advisory board of the Research Society for American Periodicals. For more, see jim-casey.com.
